Coffee Party Mission Statement: The Coffee Party Movement gives voice to Americans who want to see cooperation in government. We recognize that the federal government is not the enemy of the people, but the expression of our collective will, and that we must participate in the democratic process in order to address the challenges that we face as Americans. As voters and grassroots volunteers, we will support leaders who work toward positive solutions, and hold accountable those who obstruct them.

The Boise Coffee Party has met several times since the first meeting on March 13, 2010. We have focus groups exploring issues such as the economy, the environment, education, and human rights.

Bring your id (if you forget, you can sign an affadavit instead), avoid wearing any political gear (it's not allowed inside a polling place), if you have your absentee ballot bring it with you, and if you're not registered to vote bring both id and proof of current address (such as mail).

If you feel you are unfairly discouraged from voting or experience other problems at the polls, call your local elections office or one of the state or county parties.

RALLY

Boise's Rally to Restore Sanity

Saturday, October 30 at noon

Boise City Hall

Are you tired of the extremists dominating our political discourse? Do you just want to tell the world to chill the heck out, but you don't have the time because you're busy raising a family/looking for work/going to school/having a life? If so, you should join the Daily Show's "Rally to Restore Sanity" on October 30 in Washington, DC. But because you're part of the Busy Majority, you probably CAN'T make it to DC. In that ca...se, please attend a rally here in Boise and show the world that sensible people have opinions about politics, too.

We'll meet at NOON in front of City Hall, and promise to not be boring or take too long. If you have a bright idea of who should speak/perform/yodel, just post it here.

Meanwhile, make signs! Invite your friends! RSVP to this event! Join the discussion on Meetup! http://www.meetup.com/Rally4Sanity/26966/?a=bn4_l1

The Boise rally sprang up from the Meetup discussion and is officially sponsored by the Boise Coffee Party and a few other scattered, restless upstarts. It is not affiliated with nor officially endorsed by Jon Stewart or The Daily Show. We are just huge fans.
